Who are we?
We are a charity based in East Dorset, but cover a large radius stretching from the New Forest border, right across to Lyme Regis, and as far north as Marlborough. We are supported by the Church of England, and backed by a variety of funders both Christian and secular.

What are we?
We have a striking bus that offers a host of facilities including a cafe, flat screen TV, games consol’s, and plenty of comfortable seating. We are a mobile resource that is accessible for all ages and abilities, and has a safe, relaxing venue that appeals to all. We form what we call Partnerships with existing local groups, or help people launch new projects from side-profile-of-exteriorwhich the bus forms the basis. We offer guidance and support in setting up and ongoing supervision where needed. We provide volunteer drivers to transport the bus to and from the location, and the hire of the bus is at a tiny rate so as not to exclude those with small budgets.

Why do we do it?
The vision behind the Coach in the Community was initially born out of a desire to support young people in rural communities who have limited or no facilities in which to meet safely, in an engaging and accessible environment. This proved remarkably successful, and it became apparent that the resource should not be limited to young people. As time has gone on we have expanded our projects to include a variety of both regular and one-off bookings with groups for all ages. Check out our Partnerships page to see some of the projects. Our main aim is to work alongside groups and communities who have a heart for reaching out to whatever the local need happens to be.
